Marco Island Area Chamber of Commerce

As a community, we are moving forward with plans for the 2017 Independence Day Celebration on Marco Island.  The purpose of this letter is to ask for your help in sustaining the level and quality of this year’s fireworks display, which is such an important part of our American cultural tradition.

This year many cities and counties across the state are reducing their expenses for community events and programs.  Nevertheless, during last year’s budget discussions, the City Council voted to set aside $26,000 in funding for this very important fireworks display.  Our City Council understands the importance of this type of celebration to our residents, along with the economic impact it has on our Island community.

Many citizens, community organizations and businesses also support this tradition and continue with efforts to raise funds for the Island’s Independence Day Celebration.  We believe that most residents and businesses on Marco Island support a quality display, similar to the displays that we have held in the past, which typically cost between $50,000 and $55,000.

Therefore, we are asking for donations to assist in making sure the City celebrates our 4th of July as in past years.  A contribution will recognize you or your organization as a partner in this effort.  If your contribution is $3,000 or more, we will make arrangements for you to present your check directly to City Council with media present.

Please make contributions payable to the MARCO ISLAND AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE/FIREWORKS FUND, and send to the Marco Island Area Chamber of Commerce, Fireworks Fund, 1102 North Collier Blvd., Marco Island, FL  34145.  All donations are tax deductible.

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of our request.  We appreciate your continued support of our community.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can assist you in any way.  I am available by telephone at (239) 394-7549 and email at Dianna@MarcoIslandChamber.org.
