We have received so many calls from people up north asking about the oil spill and how bad it is on Marco Island. Well, it isn't even on Marco Island, or any where near Marco Island. There is oil on the beaches in the panhandle of Florida, by Louisiana and Alabama...NOT ON MARCO!!!

More than 3,000 rooms can be found on Marco Island & in nearby Everglades City.
Four sun-swept island resorts are located directly on Marco Island’s beach, with an historic Inn nearby. There are also hundreds of excellent vacation rental homes and condominiums. In Everglades City and the nearby areas, you’ll find an historic lodge, several bed and breakfast establishments, motels numerous campgrounds and RV parks.

Island Shelling:

Visitors can explore uninhabited barrier islands blanketed with more than 400 types of seashells and scores of Island keepsakes such lightning whelks, true tulips, fighting conchs, lions' paws, calico scallops and Florida sand dollars.

Fishing:

Back-country fishing among mangrove islands yields redfish, snook, tarpon, and sea trout. Surf casting reels in black drum and sheepshead. Offshore reefs cloak grouper, king mackerel, amberjack and snapper.
